Digitization is a technology that affects all aspects of the information cycle and information services: creation, collection, organization, dissemination, and utilization.This survey course will review digital collections within the broader context of library and information services and will examine issues of creation, selection, collection, organization,dissemination and access, and preservation of electronic records. The course will address conceptual foundations as well as practical understanding of digital libraries.
